Oculus Rift

The headset that started this recent revolution of immersive technology back in 2012, and was ultimately purchased by Facebook in 2014 for $2billion, giving the industry a real shot in the arm and made other companies take notice of the potential.

The current version of the Oculus Rift is priced at $600 USD and comes with Touch controllers. Using tracking cameras, this headset gives positional tracking, which is the main difference between mobile and PC immersive tech. This allows consumers to physically move around in their virtual environment, instead of simply moving their view. This next level makes a huge difference in immersion, and because of that requires a decent PC and cables connected. 

While not for businesses with a smaller budget, the true immersion of this headset is suited for such applications as training simulations and education, or more detailed media experiences.
